There are a lot of baby products on the market but a good rule of thumb is to go for a long standing company with quality experience. Chicco has a 61 year track record and is now distributed by Prima Baby in South Africa. Today we are giving away three hat boxes of various items that are a welcome addition to any nursery.

The other thing that impresses me about Chicco is that the products go through a rigid testing process at the Chicco Observatory in Italy. Dermatologists, paediatricians, gynaecologists and parents all ensure that the items are hypoallergenic, paraben-free, chemical-free, preservative-free and gentle on the skin.

But enough about that. Let’s rather take a peek at exactly what’s in the box and why I like these products so much.

Natural Feeling 150ml feeding bottle

I really like this bottle. I used to use the Tommy Tippee bottles just because of this wider diameter which was similar to a breast but look how this bottle takes things one step further. The teat is at a lower angle which is very close to what a normal breast looks like. This makes for easier interchangable feeding. The teat has an orthodontic design, a textured top part and drip proof cap.

Physio Soft and/or Physio Micro pacifier

One of the latest trending concerns about dummies is: will this cause orthodontic issues later? Personally I landed up with an overbite which had to be corrected in my teenage years. The Chicco pacifiers are designed to fit children’s mouths, no matter what their age (although you’ll see the age labelled) with uniform pressure of the tongue on the palate. The neck is also small, ensuring the mouth is not left open when sucking. The design has a shape that will not hamper dental development.

The other useful thing about this product is that it has a Physio Soft dummy which you can give to baby at night because it’s so soft (make from silicone) that if they roll over there won’t be much in the way of discomfort. You’ll see it also has a circular hook which you can latch onto one of those dummy holders. The other Physio Micro is more of a fashion statement with cute buttons e.g. “Love” accompanied by some hearts.

Anti-Bacterial Breast Pads

During that early mom stage it’s no joke when your boobs are leaking. This is also that stage where you go through a lot of bras. Breast pads are a lifesaver to catch those drips and not stress about any wet patches cropping up on your clothes.

The Chicco breast pads are highly breathable, absorbent and make a secure, invisible protection.

Baby Moments 50ml & 7ml Body Lotion

If you’re cautious about what lotion to put on your baby’s skin, rest assured that Baby Moments is clinically tested for no tears at bath time. It smells exactly like a baby should and contains almond milk.

Baby Moments 50ml & 7ml Body Wash

A fresh soap which is also ideal for baby’s sensitive skin. It doesn’t have any SLS, a harsh surfactant commonly found in most baby soaps. Contains soothing properties of oats.

The other thing I like about these bottles is the convenient flip top lid. When you squeeze it the liquid comes out of a tube in the top of the lid. As busy moms with full hands, this is a nice touch.

Baby Moments Nappy Cream 7ml sachet

The nappy cream is a delicate answer to nappy rash. It contains panthenol to help regenerate skin.

Baby Moments 7ml Bath Foam

Again, a delicate product designed to ensure that there aren’t any bath time tears. Plus of course, lots of bubble fun!

Strawberry Flavoured Toothpaste

One of the more difficult tasks as a mom I have found is to get your child to brush their teeth. Rinsing and spitting is also a challenge in those early days, so you’ll need a toothpaste that is safe to swallow. This Chicco toothpaste meets that need, as well as being non abrasive and containing bio-calcium. Plus which kid does not like strawberry flavour?!
