{Guest Post} The Best Shampoos for Hair Loss in 2019

February 23, 2019 by Heather Step 1 Comment

Hair loss is a condition that affects many people. Common causes of hair loss include aging, lifestyle issues, stress, and genetic predispositions. Damage from styling attempts can also result in hair loss.

In many cases, the hair is not gone but merely thinning. By stimulating the follicles and using treatments to thicken the hair and care for the scalp, you can go a long way towards having a fuller head of hair.

There are several high-end shampoos available for hair loss. These shampoos combat hormones that inhibit hair growth and feature agents that thicken hair strands and improve your hair’s resilience. Some hair products also consist of vitamins and proteins to ensure that your hair is in the best possible condition.

In this guide, we will be taking a look at the best products for improving hair growth and thickness. Keep reading to learn more.

Biotin Hair Loss Shampoo from Avalon

The organic Biotin-B Complex thickening shampoo from Avalon is NSF/ANSI 305 certified and contains a wide range of natural ingredients, including saw palmetto to prevent hair loss. Biotin is a prominent nutrient that strengthens hair follicles and thickens your hair strands.

This shampoo is also a viable solution for people who have dry hair. It contains a moisturizer to prevent the formation of dandruff and to give your hair a healthy and soft appearance and feel.

Nanogen Thickening Hair Treatment Shampoo

The hair thickening shampoo from Nanogen is not only highly effective in stimulating follicle activity and hair growth, but it is also one of the most affordable hair thickening treatments available to people with thinning hair.

It contains several ingredients, including hair thickening agents, peptides that are formulated to boost hair volume, and amino acids.

This hair thickening shampoo is safe for use in combination with products containing minoxidil, and it delivers the best results when you use it together with the protective and thickening conditioner from Nanogen.

Hims DHT Blocker Shampoo

This popular shampoo is aimed at men who suffer from the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone and androgen that is believed to cause the miniaturization of hair follicles. Hims contains salicylic acid, which limits the effects of DHT.

In addition to salicylic acid, Hims also features biotin, tea tree, and nettle leaf to enhance the health of your follicles, scalp, and hair.

Pura D’or Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo

Pure d’Or is one of the most natural options on our list. Its ingredients include saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, green tea, he shou wu, pygeum, argan oil, and biotin. All of these products work together to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss.

This shampoo is suitable for all hair types as well. It contains no harmful chemicals like parabens or SLS, and it has a wonderful smell.

After applying the shampoo to your hair, leave it in for at least three minutes so that your scalp and hair have enough time to absorb the shampoo fully.

Nizoral Anti-dandruff Shampoo

The main ingredient of Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo is ketoconazole, a medication that is primarily used for treating fungal infections.

The shampoo kills the fungus that dries out the scalp. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect as well as androgen blocking properties. Since DHT is an androgen, it can prevent hair loss as well. This shampoo may be useful in preventing hair loss, depending on the cause of your hair loss and your type of hair.

If you have dry hair and hair loss as a result of DHT, this shampoo may be a viable option for you.

Rogaine

Rogaine is not a shampoo per se, but rather a hair loss treatment in the form of aerosol or foam. The active ingredient of Rogaine is minoxidil, an anti-hypertensive vasodilator with the objective of widening the blood vessels and increasing blood flow and, ultimately, restoring hair growth.

The primary side effect of Rogaine is that it causes hyperpolarization of the blood cells and, therefore, expansion of the blood vessels and potassium channels. As more nutrients and oxygen-rich blood reach dormant hair follicles, they are revived and stimulated into a new growth phase.

According to users, Rogaine works for a receding hairline and overall hair thinning. How well the product will work for you depends on your unique physiology and the cause of your hair loss. Use Rogaine consistently for up to six months before determining whether or not it is working for you.

DS Laboratories Revita Hair Stimulating Shampoo

This popular shampoo may not perform as well as other products in terms of stimulating new hair growth, but it does an excellent job of preventing hair loss. This shampoo is suitable for all hair types and has a wide range of cleansers and ingredients, including copper peptides, ketoconazole for fungal treatment, caffeine, amino acids, an apple polyphenol, emu oil, and biotin to strengthen hair follicles and thicken your hair strands.

The ingredients work in combination with each other to address all the prominent causes of hair loss. It boosts the intake of nutrients by follicles; it kills fungi that cause hair loss, and the apple polyphenol improves blood circulation to the scalp. Furthermore, the caffeine and carnitine deliver energy to the scalp and help to maintain follicles.

Good Lab Blooming and Thickening Shampoo

The blooming and thickening shampoo from Good Lab does an excellent job of combating DHT and restoring dormant follicles.

This shampoo features a patented combination of ingredients, each with clinical data that illustrates its benefits to hair growth and scalp health.

The Good Lab ingredients include tripeptides, pumpkin seed oil, caffeine, biotin, oleanolic acid, nettle, jojoba seed oil, and saw palmetto. Many of these ingredients are unique to the blooming and thickening shampoo and work together to improve the health of hair follicles.

The ingredients listed above can be applied together with minoxidil or ketoconazole for quicker results. This shampoo is suitable for use by people with normal or dry hair. The shampoo has a fresh smell and leaves your hair feeling soft, moisturized, and healthy.
