The thing that moms want most of all on Mother’s Day is a break.
Just a break.
This could be not having to cook dinner, a few stolen hours at a spa or possibly just a deep bath undisturbed from bath toys and “Mommeee!”
What if you could have a real break, away from the constraints of normal life and get away with your partner or bring the family too if you wanted? This could be just what you need to refresh body, mind and soul.
SA-Venues.com is treating one lucky mom and her family to an absolutely fabulous prize – a R2 000 voucher for any accommodation booked from their site. So, whether you’d simply like a romantic weekend in a nearby town or you’d prefer to use your prize to help organise the family holiday of a lifetime, SA-Venues.com will be part of creating this special experience.

It would have to be Robertson in the Western Cape. Lovely wineries, nature reserves and spas to help you relax and enjoy some me time.

Franshoek for my 15th anniversary in June. That would be perfect.

I have a few faves, but I must choose one – I think relaxing at the beach is my fave seeing as I grew up in Durban and miss swimming at the beach so much 🙂
Hayley Malan says
I absolutely love the Garden route but haven’t dared to take the long drive from the Cape since the kids were born.
I think they are now old enough to withstand the long drive 🙂

I have been wanting to go to Cape Town since forever. Would love to use it for an indulgent weekend break to anywhere in our beautiful Cape
Nicola says
For me, it has to be the Cape. There’s just so much to do in terms of variety. No matter how many times I go, I’d wanna go back. The sunset views from the different beaches, with picturesque views of the mountain…whale watching in Hermanus or a romantic picnic in the winelands. If you’re up for a party, then you’ll be spoiled for choice on the infamous Long street in the city Centre. Factory shops galore…if I go on…it’s gonna be like a blog post lol…so let me just stop right here….oh wait…, just outside the Cape…I love Arniston too ❤️❤️❤️ Need to do this with my child, who we haven’t as yet taken to the beautiful Cape
Sara Essop says
As a resident of Johannesburg, I love going for weekend getaways to Magaliesberg, just over an hour away. When the city stress starts getting to me and I need to take a quick break amid nature, then that’s where I head with my family. Its proximity to Johannesburg is a huge plus, making it a perfect weekend getaway within easy reach. There are plenty of beautiful lodges in the surrounding areas and many of them have amazing spas – just what I need to de-stress and recharge.
Charlene says

Lynn Botha says
My favourite destination is Citrusdal.. The Baths.. They have various options of accommodation, but the chalets inside the Kloof are absolutely amazing.. It has everything you need (some with and some without tv depending on what you want). It has its own private Jacuzzi on the patio, you can sit it in and observe the nature in front of you. The kids have an absolute ball, there is a huge hot pool and a cold pool within walking distance from the chalets. Its self catering with its own braai, and if you don’t feel like cooking.. they have a very reasonably priced restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Knysna – It was our honeymoon destination and holds a special, magical place in our hearts 🙂
Susann says
I love going up to Limpopo or Mpumalanga – and always push to go into the Kruger Park. Those 2 provinces are just out of this world – from valleys to mountains, farms, wildlife and clean rivers. My heart is always in Magoebaskloof.

I love the West Coast and staying at Calypso Beach would be first prize. My kids love the water and my husband is an avid fisherman. I just love being new the ocean, hearing the waves crashing on the shore, smelling that fresh salty breeze coming in through the window. Carefree, open, wonderful!
