I think we will always remember 2020 not only for a devastating pandemic but also for how we have tried to maintain connection with our loved ones despite not being able to be with them in person. We will remember those who made a difference in these difficult times and you can show your mom how much you care this year with a special delivery.

I came across this meme from Aunty Acid recently and it really encapsulates how people are still trying to have an element of normality in times that can’t be described as normal.

I find it highly ironic that after moving all the way to PE to be close to my mom I’m still going to be sending her a Netflorist gift as if I am still at a distance. We are getting her that nice box that we can personalise with a message for Grandma and with Nicky’s name as well. That way she will have something special to remember us by and use the box afterwards for something. And I know she loves chocolates.

 

And my gift is going to arrive after mother’s day.  That’s just how it is on a busy holiday when the whole world is ordering online and it’s not a big deal to me. But I will make an effort to call her on her special day and let Nicky have full reign of the phone so he can show her his latest car tracks or what ever he is building at that time.

I think the real strength we have as moms is to be able to make the best of a bad situation. To try and make something special out of an occasion where we should be together.

Whatever this pandemic has done to you and your family to put your plans on hold or given you a huge mountain that you feel unable to climb just know this: you are a mom and you can celebrate that with your loved ones with the technologies we are blessed to have.
