We want to give our kids the best opportunities life has to offer, but we don’t always have the skills or know how to help them. Recently I’ve realised my failings with this after my son’s business week. Although we really poured ourselves into it, and he did make a small profit, I wish that I could have advised him better or produced a better result. That is where events like the KidBoss workshop can really help us as parents: by giving our kids the tools they need to be a success in business.

She has been a Young entrepreneur finalist in The Minara 2024 awards as well as a mompreneur, Certified UK Business & Youth Coach, and completed her Executive MBA with the Quantic School of Business and Technology based in America with students globally, graduating in the top 10% of her cohort. She has spent over 15 years working with business owners and helping people build sustainable businesses and stronger financial futures.
The story behind why KidBoss started
The inspiration behind KidBoss is actually very personal. After losing her grandmother, Humairaa started thinking deeply about legacy – what we leave behind, the values we pass on, and how we equip the next generation for the future. As a mom, she also wanted her son to grow up knowing he had options and real-world skills he could always rely on, regardless of how the job market changes. She wanted him to have a future he could build and not have to rely on others.

Living in South Africa, where unemployment rates are such a major challenge, she realised how important it is for children to develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving skills, communication abilities, money awareness, leadership skills, team working skills and entrepreneurial thinking from an early age. Also being an accountant herself – she knows the difference that businesses of all sizes make to the economy – in terms of job employment, stability etc. Further, she started as a young entrepreneur at the age of 7 selling oranges from her grandmother’s yard. It was a simple business but it was fun and enjoyable.

KidBoss was created to help children build those foundations in a fun, practical, and encouraging environment.
Humairaa’s vision for KidBoss
One of the things that also makes KidBoss unique is that the programme incorporates STEM-aligned learning principles and is connected to internationally recognised entrepreneurial and coaching frameworks. The curriculum is recognised amongst top STEM educational programmes and linked to internationally recognised coaching standards through the UK Association for Coaching.
Kidboss blends entrepreneurship and financial literacy with personal skills and habits. They focus on working with kids, and their unique talents and gifts and how they can utillise it. They don’t want to silence their voices. In a world with AI – we want to encourage self thinking (and using tools) but being able to think and create and lead and interact with others.
It’s not just about making money. It’s about who kids become. Their characters. Resilience, adaptability, how they overcome rejection and struggles. The real qualities that ensure success.

Their programmes are also focused on working in community, caring for the environment. Being aware of your surroundings and how you operate.
This event is part of a larger vision for KidBoss, which will include 3-month cohorts, private sessions, future themed workshops focused on entrepreneurship, money skills, branding, pitching, creativity, leadership, and real-world business exposure for children. Eventually they would like to have markets for kids to sell their products/services, mentors who will guide them and see our Kids practice what they’ve learnt.
