Introducing Panado®’s Grape-Flavoured Paediatric Syrup

February 28, 2024 by Heather Step Leave a Comment

It’s time to add some grape-tastic pain and fever relief to your medicine cabinet with Panado®‘s newest flavour addition to the paediatric range – Grape!

Panado grape flavour syrup to help fever

Panado®‘s new Grape flavour is colourant-free, tartrazine-free, alcohol-free, and sugar-free, ensuring your child gets the pain and fever care they need without any harmful additives.1

As parents, we are often on high alert when it comes to the wellbeing of our little ones and making sure they are cared for. Even the slightest indication of discomfort can trigger a sense of unease.

How to measure a fever in your child

Fortunately, in times when your child is feeling unwell, you can take comfort in knowing Panado® is here to help. By providing trusted relief from fever and pain, Panado® can ease discomfort and help your child feel better.

Fever In Children

Did you know that children suffering from illness lead to more primary care consultations than any other age group?2a Even young children can be at risk of developing coughs, colds, ear aches and fevers.2b

However, the challenge with young children is that they may not always be able to communicate when they are feeling unwell.

Hence, it is important to pay attention to behavioural cues, such as excessive fussiness, difficulty sleeping, or reluctance to eat, as these could indicate the presence of pain or fever.

How To Measure A Fever

A fever in a child is defined as a body temperature of 380C or higher.3a

To see if your child is burning up, you can use a digital ear or forehead thermometer.3b

As a trusted4 name in South Africa, Panado® understands that parents want convenient  and great tasting products for their children, including proper dosage instructions.

Dosage details for the Panado® paediatric range of products can be found at https://panado.co.za/dosage-calculator/ and are calculated according to your child’s age and weight.

Add in your child’s age and weight, and our calculator will automatically calculate how much paracetamol you should give your child, and which product is best suited for your child.

While symptoms persist, the dosage can be repeated every four hours if needed to a maximum of four doses per 24 hours for not longer than five days. The administration method is oral, and for syrups, it’s important to shake the bottle before use.

Why Choose Panado® With Paracetamol?

Paracetamol is endorsed by expert bodies worldwide, including the World Health Organization5a for management of fever and mild-to moderate pain in infants and children,5b and is indicated for use in children of all ages5c.

Other Panado® Products Suitable For Your Child

In addition to Panado® Paediatric Syrup – Grape Flavour1, Panado®‘s range for children includes Panado® Paediatric Syrup Peppermint 5ml Sachets6, Panado® Paediatric Syrup Strawberry,7 Panado® Paediatric Syrup Peppermint Alcohol and Sugar-Free,6 and Panado® Infant Drops.8

Parents trust4 Panado® for the power to fight their little one’s pain and provide fast9 relief when needed most.  Panado® products are available at Baby City, Pick n Pay, Checkers, including Hypers, Shoprite, Clicks, Dis-Chem, and Independent Pharmacies. PANADO® PAEDIATRIC ALCOHOL-FREE GRAPE FLAVOUR SYRUP

The recall of the Panado® Paediatric Alcohol-Free Grape Syrup was initiated because of the development of small white specks in a limited number of packed units. These white specks are a result of the dissolved paracetamol (the active ingredient) coming out of solution over a period of time, which is called precipitation. As the syrup is clear and colourless, the precipitation of paracetamol becomes visible in the product or at the bottom of the bottle.  This precipitation seen as small white specks impacts the visual appearance of the product. The safety profile and efficacy (working of the product) remains unchanged.
