Have you thought about a gift for your special someone this Valentine’s Day? Here at SA Mom Blogs we’ve compiled a list of goodies for your sweetheart.
- Jewelry
For centuries diamonds have been the symbol of eternal love. This is because the Greeks believed that Cupid, the god of love, has diamond tipped arrows which magically bring hearts together.
I also find it very symbolic as to how diamonds are created. Over three billion years ago, under conditions of intense heat and pressure, carbon atoms crystallised to form diamonds. These days I have become aware that relationships are forged through those hard, intense times, and if you can make it through those tough times, you have something very beautiful, unique and special.
Diamonds are also an eternal, lasting element, aren’t they? So why not spoil your lady with a diamond necklace? Or a special personalised necklace that tells them they are unique? Your loved one’s initial in diamonds is a precious adornment that will last forever and looks incredibly elegant.
This diamond ball necklace (above) is so stunning I couldn’t help but show you the video from all angles.
For the man in your life check out these watches from Bliss Body – very classic and masculine. If you use the voucher code samomblogs15 you’ll get 15% off too.
Another great site for personalised jewelry is Tora Grace. I have a lovely necklace from them which says “One Step at a Time” which is kind of my motto these days.
2. Flowers
This scented and beautiful declaration shows that you were thinking of them. The place to go for this is Netflorist, which will often give you the option to add in other gifts too. Remember to book ahead with them, as they will be pretty busy on the 14th.
Netflorist released their stats and as you can see, roses top the list of Valentine’s gifts.
3. Bears with love messages
I remember my husband giving me a huge bear with a heart attached to it saying “Love” and also another time a smaller bear with a flower. These are adorable ways to share the love and cuddles – fluffly toys. You can try CNA as well as Netflorist for this.
4. Cups with love messages
This is also quite a nice one because you can fill it up with chocolates. It also keeps forever so you can be reminded of the message while having your coffee every day. I remember getting a tall one from the Crazy store one year – a good spot to check out other Valentine’s gifts as well. This one below is from Netflorist.
5. Write a letter
You can get a nice card from Cardies, The Birthday Shop or CNA and write a love message inside. You don’t have to be fancy or cliched, often it’s the simple things that mean a lot to another person about how they make you feel and the special memories you share.
Here are some nice cards from The Crazy Store, and they also have some useful vouchers too.
How cute is this card from Typo?
6. Candles
If you are making a romantic dinner then you’ll need some appropriate candles.
7. Chocolate
This is a simple and sweet solution to make your loved one feel special. There are all sorts of hearts and messaged chocolates you can use.
8. Alcohol
Often a winner to get you into the mood, there are also some lovely personalised ones from Netflorist too.
What will you be giving your loved one for Valentine’s day?
And if you had to choose a diamond necklace, which one would be your favourite?
