Many children will love the appeal of travelling around the world and the adventure contained in this animation of the Jules Verne classic story. In this story, Phileas Fogg is an adventurous frog and Passepartout is a marmoset monkey who longs to travel. You can win three sets of tickets to this movie as well as some merchandise to add to the fun on the blog today.
The two lead characters couldn’t be more different, and that is also what makes them so interesting. Phileas arrives on a surfboard. He is obviously someone who loves adventure, not being tied down and he prefers to travel alone. He’s also a bit of a con artist and isn’t above pick pocketing whoever is around to get by. When he is challenged to travel the world in 80 days he accepts – he’s always up for a bet.
While Passepartout longs for adventure, he is kept on a very short leash by an over bearing mother who doesn’t want to let him out of her sight. Of course when he sees Phileas he wants to go with – but it’s only by sheer determination that he manages to do this.
Thrown into the mix is Inspector Fix who follows them around on their adventures – a bank was robbed just before they left – are they to blame?
You’ll have to watch the film to find out. “The world” as it turns out is really just an island, and although they travel through deserts, rainforests and other remote places, this is definitely a simplified version of the real story. However the kids will have some good laughs along the way and be entertained, and that’s really why we go to the movies, don’t we?

This sounds incredibly awesome and a fitting movie for my 2 little detectives. They have never been to a movie theatre before, mainly because they were too small before the pandemic hit and now that they are of a good age, I would love to take them to watch this movie. Fingers crossed 🙂
