Thomas the tank engine has a special place in every little boy’s heart and in this house it’s no different. He’s been cheerfully tooting his way around this house not only in toy form but also through bed time stories and videos too. We even watched a Thomas movie once too. That was fun. Nicky had a train party too last year when he turned four. An exceptional cake with Thomas on the top and I even attempted Thomas cookies. Today on the blog we are giving away a super Thomas & Friends Collectible Railway play set, sure to give hours of fun play to your little Thomas fan.
Are you curious as to how the blue engine puffed itself into our lives? He was created 70 years ago by a British clergyman, the Rev Awdry, as a story for his son. From then on he grew so much that he’s ranked number one in the preschool toys category in both the UK and Australia, and number two in the USA.
I think what I enjoy about the Thomas stories is that he is really an enthusiastic helper, but often that help is a bit misguided or overdone. It’s often up to his friends or the Fat Controller to put him straight. He had to learn the hard way about how to handle the Troublesome Trucks. Sometimes he makes things worse before they get better but he always has the best intentions of helping others. Like that time he tried to make Molly feel special by covering up her empty carriages and putting lights all around her. Which worked well until the wind blew the covers off. I think we can relate to this happy little engine because he makes mistakes just like us and encourages us to fix them too, even if we’ve made a mess.
Today we are giving away an awesome Thomas playset which your kid will have loads of fun playing with. Thomas and Percy can race around in circles and spirals.
The Thomas & Friends Collectible Railway range is perfect for a busy day in Sodor. The collection consists of an assortment of Collectible Railway die-cast engines, track sets and accessory pieces, all of which form part of an expandable system to recreate the fun and exciting world of Thomas. They are made to last – the cars are easy to connect and the tracks are simple to build.
The Collectible Railway range includes:
The Collectible Railway range of assorted small and large die-cast engines deliver push-along fun. The train engines and vehicles feature plastic connectors at the front and back that allow your child to connect other engines or tenders, creating a railway full of really useful engines. Each time your child plays with these engines, they are developing their gross motor skills, sensory skills and reasoning skills. Every die-cast train engine and vehicle (small or large) is an exact replica of your child’s favourite character as seen on TV.
Another playset is the iconic Tidmouth Sheds, which is sure to be your child’s preferred location to use with the Collectible Railway engines and tracks. Tidmouth Sheds is the place where every engine begins a new day, and the place where they go to rest after a very busy day. To unload the track, simply open the top that reveals 9 pieces of track. Snap the track pieces into and around the sheds to build the track set. Take Thomas along to pick up cargo from the cargo loader. When your child is finished playing conductor for the day, load all the pieces back inside the shed and take it wherever they go, thanks to the convenient carry handle. The set includes a die-cast metal Thomas engine and 3 cargo pieces.
