What are Moccis? It looks like a cross between a slipper and a sock but there is much more to it than that. They are hand sewn Swedish moccasins.
They certainly are trendy, with a host of celebrity endorsements such as Victoria Beckham Alicia Keys, Rita Ora, Sienna Miller, Claudia Schiffer, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, and many more. They have also been in the MTV music awards goodie bags for three consecutive years.
They are very popular in London at the children’s shoe department as one of the top five sellers at at Harrods and Selfridges.
They are perfect for little feet because they are podiatrist approved because unlike socks or shoes that can damage your feet they are very safe.
I put the Moccis to the test and was given for review a nice purple one (my fave colour) the same one that Claudia Schiffer has.
PROS:
They are very cosy. The first thing I like about them is that they kept my feet warm. My slippers only warm the bottom part of my feet whereas the Moccis are like a boot or sock that goes all the way up to your ankle.
You can chuck them in the wash. They are super easy to clean.
Non slip: they are secure as you walk.
Cute: I like that they go with my pajamas and you can choose from 30 different designs.
I think they would be very suitable for kids, particularly the toddler who is learning to walk, who doesn’t need that firm shoe but needs a non slip protector. It kind of reminds me of those socks from Woolies with the non slip dots on the bottom only this is a step further, more durable and cuter.
CONS:
The soles are a bit thin and you can feel the cold kitchen tiles through the Moccis. This would not be a slipper you could wear outdoors, it isn’t that durable. But it is definitely something you could wear inside.
If you’re only doing laundry twice a week like I am, that’s how often you can wear your Moccis. Because it is rather like wearing a sock and you’d probably put your sock in the wash after you wear it. Although you can stretch it, depending on how clean your feet were.
Have a look at their website and their cute designs – I think my son would like the penguin one. What do you think? Would it be worth it?

These are beautiful for my younger siblings because they always keep removing their slippers. Great post!! 🙂

Yes these are a must. Especially for kids who keep kicking their slippers off.
