Would you believe a mere two years ago that we would be walking around with masks? That there would be a global pandemic that would force us to wear these things – for most people for the whole day? Around about now many of your masks may be showing some wear and tear and you might also be looking for some better options. AirPop masks focus on breathability and filtration – so if you’re looking for an effective barrier that helps you breathe better – this mask will help you with that.
AirPop was not originally designed for Covid, however. It was just a normal dad living in China trying to find a solution for his kids (a newborn and a two year old) who were having respiratory illnesses due to the pollution. The beauty of these masks is that they have greater than 99% filtration of particles both ways so they really help filter out all the nasties, be they carbon pollution or Covid.
Another really cool thing about them is that a pocket of air is created in front of your face so that the air goes down by your neck instead of upwards (fogging up your glasses). You might have to fiddle a bit with this and it’s not foolproof but it’s a lot better than the normal ones who don’t have anything blocking that area. You could have foam (the Pocket Mask) or plastic (the Light SE Mask) but either way it does work in a unique way to help you breath better. I think that this is the greatest selling point of the mask – especially if you have to wear it for long periods – you will notice the breathing is so much better.
I was sent three products for review:
- Light SE
This one is designed for long wearing comfort. It has a plastic nose bridge on top.
2. Pocket
This one is for people on the go. It has the foam inner.
3. Kids
These are made for children 3-12 and you can get them in blue and pink as well as white. They also have the foam on top. These are going to be really good options for kids that wear glasses.
Watch the video below for more details about them and my experience.
Disclaimer: I was sent the masks for review.
You can find them online at AirPop Health. They are also available on Takealot and your local iStore.
