WIN a Barbie Hair Princess!

September 14, 2016 by Heather Step 36 Comments

healthy-living-4When I was a kid I used to love playing with Barbie. And Ken. The act of dressing them up and taking them places was really fun for a little girl like me.

Barbie has changed quite a bit over the years. Still the same basic (unrealistic) frame, but now there are more and more of her. Recently a new “Fashionistas” range has a curvier more diverse range.

In case you or your child fancy yourselves as a bit of a hair stylist, here’s a Barbie with extra long hair to play with.  Yes, she has twice the length of the normal Barbie hair at 25cm long.

Barbie Hair Princess also comes with hair accessories to enjoy too. There are six “snap beads” which plug into a tool that creates a twist.  There are also barrettes which can be worn by kids too.

The Barbie Hair Princess has a retail recommended price of R399.99.

Here is a video so you can see the twist in action.

All you have to do to win is to tell us what you like about Barbie in the comments, using the Rafflecopter mechanism.

(Not sure how to use Rafflecopter? Sharon wrote a how to post on it recently here) (Do the comment first and then click on the Rafflecopter).

Terms and conditions:

  1. Competition is open to SA residents only.
  2. The competition will run for a week and the winner will be announced on Facebook and emailed.
  3. If you have won a giveaway on SA Mom Blogs in the last 3 months you will not be eligible for this giveaway.
  4. The prize is not transferable.

what do I like about Barbie… well for starts her PR team is incredible, shes reinvented herself more than Madonna… and therein that statement lies my age…. Barbie is about as girly as it gets, irrespective of new trends, she is timeless and will always be a part of childhood dreams and hopefully realities.

Barbie has been around for generations, I use to and still do get excited by the wide range of Barbie’s to choose from. Opening your new Barbie and smelling her beautiful hair. Playing and brushing her hair and trying on new outfits. Im 36 and I still enjoy playing with my daughters Barbie. Its absolutely awesome to have the new fashionistas range. Now girls can choose dolls that look similar to them!

I love that Barbie represents and plants the seeds in little girls that women can be whatever they want to be…Doctor, Vet, Fashionista, girl about town, or in my younger childhood days, a sheriff that was Marshall Bravestar and He- man’s boss 🙂 Whatever, its all possible.

  23. Kim says

I love Barbie because I have two daughters and watching/playing barbie with the kids is a treasured memory of my children’s childhood.Seeing my eldest daughters face light up with each and every Barbie melts my heart.Every little girl just loooooves a Barbie with such long beautiful hair – It’s an inspiration to my eldest daughter ( of 6) to not play hairdresser on her own her and to let it grow long lol 🙂

  25. Angela Howell says

    September 14, 2016 at 3:02 pm

I love how this barbie is another to a long range of Barbies. Barbie has entertained little girls for generations. I myself have a retro hair style Barbie that my mother gave me when I turned 13. It was her first Barbie. I have put all my Barbies away. Including Rapunzel and The little Sally. This Barbie is just proof of how it is constantly changing and how they keep with the times. Barbie never fails to impress. And the accessories just keep getting better and better. I would love to add her to my daughter’s collection. She will have from antique, straight through to the hip and happening.
