Cute doughnut shaped animals, time travel, extinct species, a bad guy about to blow up their island, Charles Darwin passing by on a ship – the kiddies will sure have fun with this movie! Not only is there plenty of action but there’s also a bit of history thrown in as the Flummels time travel from Galapagos 1835 to modern day Shanghai and discover they are extinct. What follows is a hilarious adventure to try and put things right with plenty of mishaps along the way. SA Mom Blogs is giving away three sets of family tickets to this movie and all you have to do is comment on this post.
If you’re wondering why all the mishaps happen to the Flummels then you really have to meet brother Ed (the pessimist who is forever trying to fit in) and his rather more exuberant sister who is upbeat but she tends to cause disaster wherever she goes.
These two’s shenanigans get them excluded from the flower festival but they are determined to work their way back in. So they go in search of splendid flowers that will impress their friends. In the process they stumble across a large, glowing flower that sucks them up and transports them through space and time to the Chinese city of Shanghai in the present day.
The next huge shock to them is to discover that they are part of the “extinct species” display at the museum. The only way to stop their extinction is to go back in time through the flower again, using a special “seed” for the correct time period. A scientist has discovered a way to time travel through these flowers and has brought back a selection of extinct animals that help them in their cause: Dottie the dodo, Burnie the Tasmanian tiger, Alma the macrauchenia and Hoss the triceratops. Plus added to the mix is an interesting Pomeranian dog in a red sweater voiced by Ken Jeong.
What could go wrong?
You’ll have to find out yourself and watch this entertaining movie. Nicky really enjoyed it and he especially liked the Flummels and the time travelling parts.
