The South African Mommy Blogger Awards

We have some exciting news! Our very own South African mom blogger, Jacqui Bester, from One Messy Mama, has put together something really special: The SA Mommy Blogger Awards!  She’s written a bit here why she’s taken this on and why it’s important:

There are so many dimensions to being a mom – nanny, teacher, cook and cleaner, wardrobe buyer, shoe-lace tie’er, nurse and friend and “go get’em” motivator. We are warriors! (All women are, in my opinion.) 

Our days are a collage of buzz and rush, one chore blurring seamlessly into the next. 

Meet someone who adds the descriptor “blogger” after her title of “mommy”… and you will have found a woman who spends countless (often thankless) hours giving shape to stories that she might share, in the hope of inspiring and encouraging other moms. 

Being a mommy blogger is more than concocting something to write. The definition of a Mommy Blogger should read as follows – Mother, friend, woman; striving to better the world one word at a time. 

You see, like every other mommy out there. A Mommy Blogger has all the same responsibilities, yet she sits until midnight sharing her story with others. Why you ask? Because she believes that moms have a voice that should be heard, she believes that her story may touch a heart, inspire a soul and maybe, just maybe add a ray of sunshine to an otherwise difficult day. 

A Mommy Blogger is an activist for moms. She fights the fight. Protecting what we all hold so dear to our hearts. Our families. 

That is why we have decided to celebrate all Mommy Bloggers in South Africa.

The South African Mommy Blogger Awards are new, fresh and exciting.

Once you’re in the group the next thing to do is enter the awards by filling in your entry in the google document form here.

You’ll see you’ll get to choose three categories and then select two posts which reflect those categories.
