Today we meet South African mom blogger Tracey who blogs at Kaydence: Helping Moms Keep Their Rhythm.
Meet the family behind Kaydence.
My husband, Marcus. Papa, daddy and our rock. He’s a Transfer Pricing genius at BDO. Marcus is a little too crazy about Lego and Playstation making him an amazing father to his two sons. Marcus was born and raised in Germany making everyone in this family German sport, food and gear obsessed.
Sebastian my oldest is 7. A strong willed and super competitive little boy who is in love with chess, mountain biking and PlayStation. He comes across as shy but you’ll soon learn that if he doesn’t have anything nice to say, he just won’t say it.
Alexander my youngest is 5. A little boy with a heart full of love. His favourite colour is rainbow and he will happily charm the pants off of anyone who will listen. Currently all about painting, Lego and tennis!
And then there is me…
I am Tracey. I am a self-proclaimed super mom and am constantly learning more and more about what it is to be a mom. I like to think I’m a positive, adventurous and family-driven person who constantly strives to find new and exciting things to do, places to go and people to meet. I thrive on writing and travel and hope to pass this passion on to my children.
I love helping people and helping moms find their voice, I truly believe that moms can change the world!
I’m a strong-willed person who works hard to get what I want. My mind is always busy, so finding downtime is important. My favourite thing to do is box! (Missfit Queen!) and I love to read (rom coms of course!). The best way for me to destress is spending a day on the couch with Netflix or a good movie, or spending the day out with family.
We all have to try to keep our bodies healthy and happy! I do this by enjoying lots of specialty coffee (I am definitely a coffee snob!), and besides my favourite boxing I love running. I’m not great at fitness, but my favourite part of a run or a workout session is thinking you’ll never make a goal and then being surprised when you do! AND … then I get to enjoy all sorts of chocolate treats. 🙂
I have visited 46 countries and lived in five cities across three continents. I’m an arachnophobe who has held a tarantula, I’ve swam with sharks and hiked a volcano. I love an adventure, but you will never see me jump from a plane! I’m no genius in the kitchen but have eaten wonderful delicacies like snake, alligator and frog’s legs.
I dreamt up Kaydence during Covid when the mom blog I was writing for (Things to do with Kids) decided to go in a different direction. Watching so many new and old moms being so overwhelmed and needing support and advice from other moms, and having SO much to say I started building Kaydence.
Why Kaydence? Well it’s just as the name suggests…it is all about helping moms find their rhythm in the wonderful journey that is motherhood. And also because I am a mom to two little boys, I never got to use my favourite girls’ name Kaydence and thought I can use her name to help me and so many other moms. The one thing I have learnt in these past 6 months is that the more real and truthful you are, the more responsive people will be too. We are all imperfect and I still don’t believe kids just sleep through the night.. my 7 year old is still up most of the night!
