One of Nicky’s favourite shows when we were watching Showmax was Dora. He liked to watch the same episodes over and over. I think he even learnt some Spanish (and so did I, it was on so many times…)
The lovable Dora will be visiting South Africa and “Dora the Explorer Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure” will be showing at the ICC, Durban, 1-3 July, Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg, 7-12 July and finally Grand Arena, Grand West Casino, in Cape Town 15-17 July.
All the favourite characters are there with Dora, Boots and Diego embarking on a trip for treasure over the Dancing Mountain and through the Silly Singing Bridge in pursuit of the Pirate Piggies. Of course, any entertainment from Dora would not be complete without the usual map reading, counting, musical and language tasks needed to get to her destination; which in this case is Treasure Island and a Pirate Party.
Tickets are available through Computicket, and also at Emperor’s Palace and the Box Office at Grand West Casino.
SA Mom blogs is giving away a set of tickets for a Johannesburg show. Please note that this will be during the week, either Thursday 7th 10am or Friday the 8th 10am or 2pm. A perfect holiday treat for the kiddies.
To enter all you have to do is tell us what you like about Dora – but please use the Rafflecopter mechanism. Additional entries can be gained by tweets.

My little guy absolutely loves Dora!!
not only is it interactive and educational, but also loads of fun, with songs that he sings over and over.
To be able to go see the stage production would be such a treat for him! Especially since he loves pirates…. AAARGH 🙂

Both my little ones love Dora (my daughter went through a phase where she wanted to watch the same episodes over and over and now my son is going through that phase). We have just gotten the new episodes where Dora is a bit older but still just as sweet.
It is one of the few programmes I approve of since it is very innocent, teaches kindness and respect for others and even learning skills like counting, geography and language- my kids have learnt lots of Spanish from it!
