As someone who has been teaching online for more than a year now, I can see first hand the effectiveness of this education. It is convenient for me as a native speaker not to travel all the way to countries who are in need of English education, and it’s convenient for parents to set up lessons in their home. Even my own child has benefited from some zoom lessons from his teacher during lockdown. But what about an online high school?
I feel that we are just scratching the surface of the potential of online education options that a pandemic has forced us to consider.
If you are researching high school options then read more about the Valenture Institute which has both online and in person options.
Learning online has become the new norm for many learners as the entire education system had to undergo a forced pandemic pivot. But many school children experienced remote learning or make-shift models of online learning as teachers weren’t prepared for this disruption. And who could blame them?!
However, even before COVID hit, many high school students already opted-out of traditional schooling, switching to online learning environments where they could thrive – both academically and socially. Plus, many students, like Tyla Potgieter who is a student at global private online high school, Valenture Institute, went online to pursue her dreams of becoming a pro golfer. She is now Grade 11, and can attend her live online classes on the road as she travels from tournament to tournament.
For a long time, education has remained the same. No massive changes or innovations came it’s way. Until it had to adapt. Corona-chaos brought about an accelerated change in thinking; and now many more students than ever are staying online. Permanently this time.
Some parents don’t want to send kids back to school due to safety concerns, while others have to as they return to full-time work during the day, and are unable to leave kids alone at home.
There might be a solution that evolves and expands the online-only education model even further. Valenture Institute’s Boutique Campuses, dotted around South Africa, all opening in 2021.
How does it work?
Students attend a completely COVID-monitored campus during the day, but continue to learn alongside their global classmates online in live sessions. This campus is no ordinary high school, though. Think of a private school on steroids, but at a lower price point!
Learners have the chance to learn from experts teaching across the world and innovators from the likes of Harvard, Google and NASA. They will have learning coaches with them during the day to guide the progress and who’ll ensure they stay on track every step of their qualification.
Students and parents also have access to exclusive facilities and features like private study pods, a gym, a production space, a smoothie bar, a grocery delivery service for their household and much more.
Yes, it’s a campus that expands the experience of online, with massive perks for parents!
Find out more here and contact the school to hear more about costs, admissions deadlines and more!
Alternatively, students who prefer to continue their studies online-only, who want the complete flexibility to learn from anywhere in the world, can join the school today as they’re continuously accepting Grade 8 and 9 midstream students.
Take back their future, by giving them the future, today.
What do you think? I’d like to hear your comments about how education is changing and what options you have been using.
