One of the big parts of blogging is sharing your blog posts. A great blog post won’t do much, just sitting on your blog, you need to get it out there in front of the right audience.
Even though I said you don’t need to be on all Social Media platforms, there are still many places you can, and must share your blog post.
Twitter – I have had a bit of a falling out with Twitter but it is still a really great place to share content. It is one of the few platforms you can’t really over share. Schedule your post over a few weeks, schedule it at different times of the day so that it gets in front of people at different times.
Facebook – ideally you want to create a separate page for your blog and not use your personal account to share from, although there is nothing wrong with sharing it on your personal page. Be careful on Facebook to overshare, Schedule older posts that did well to post to your page but try not to post more than 2 posts a day and not to close together.
Pinterest – this works on images so make sure your images are Pinterest-friendly (Canva is great for this) if it is a post you want to share on Pinterest. Not all posts work if you share on Pinterest, so try to chose the posts that will work. Craft posts and list posts work really well so focus on pinning those.
Groups – join groups that are relevant to your niche, to blogging and to your audience. Share your posts in the groups, according to their rules. This can be a very powerful tool because you are surrounded by the relevant people.
Instagram – direct your readers to your latest blog post through Instagram by using a image relevant to your latest blog post, just make sure the link in your bio is correct. It doesn’t need to link to the exact blog post but to your main page.
Google + – I am still learning about this but I do know there are bloggers who get a lot of traffic from this. You can set up posts to post automatically from here.
There are obviously a lot more places you can share – Snapchat, Periscope, You Tube are all ways you can get your blog posts out there by directing your audience during your streams. Newsletters are also ways you can direct your audience to specific blog posts.
Which of these works the best for you?
