Winter is definitely announcing her arrival! It is getting colder, some parts are getting wetter and most of us have realised that our kids no longer fit into anything we bought them last winter, so many of us are heading to the shops to get our kids winter ready.
One of the biggest challenges we have with the younger 3 are shoes. Kiara will only wear Tomy’s and pumps, Emma will wear anything that’s Jack and Jack will wear anything with laces and then melt down about the laces.
We have been through many many MANY brands of shoes but these are the 5 we have settled on and the places we turn to first.
ShooShoos worked for the younger two as babies. They both had a few pairs that they wore until they couldn’t anymore. They are easy to put on and take off and are super cute. Small babies don’t really need shoes but once they start walking they do need something soft for their feet.
David’s mom has bought both babies shoes from Green Cross and they are honestly one of the best brands and the one they both wear the most. The shoes are a little more practical than cute but they do have nice styles and colours.
Woolworth’s Walkmates worked really well for Cameron and Kiara also had a few pairs. I don’t love their boots, they are a mission to get on but they have a nice selection and they do outlast the child’s growth.
This one may come as a shock, but Pep have some good quality shoes, especially for older kids. They have nice takkies with Velcro and laces and they actually do last well. I have bought from them for each kid.
Pick n Pay have really improved their clothing range and they have a nice selection of shoes for the little ones and they aren’t badly priced either. Emma loves doing a bit of a shoe shop at Pick n Pay because they have lots of pretty shoes with princess on.
I recently walked past a Cotton On and saw the cutest pair of silver pumps, very bling but Emma would love them. So they are on my list to try out but I have not bought anything from them yet.
Where do you buy your little one’s shoes?

Crocs for the kids for sure – both for summer and winter. Even I have two pairs. Still haven’t convinced my husband to wear them yet …

I agree, crocs are great. Comfy, easy on and off, easy to clean and they last forever. For winter their boots are warm and waterproof. The cotton on shoes are really cute but they don’t look good for long.

I also love the kiddies crocs and we only use one pair during summer. We make them super cool with the little smurfs, superman and crocodile things you can add into the little holes.
For winter, sneakers from Woolies are awesome.
Great post!!

I find that the Ackermans in Menlyn mall have great shoes for toddlers and great prices to

Expensive but in my book kids Crocs are the best. In summer my kids only need 1 pair of shoes. Each time my Mum has bought them when they grow out of the current size. Over and above being comfy they are still as good as new after a full season of wear. Crocs on adults are not pretty but the kids ones are a total winner.
