What’s on this weekend (1-2 April)

This weekend in Gauteng you can sit back and watch a movie, or go out and have a jol at the Fantasy Fayre or Huawei Joburg Day. Listen to some classical music with your kid @Little Maestros. We also have two theatre productions and the Transformers which are still showing.

  1. Smurfs:The Lost Village

Smurfette and her best friends Briany, Clumsy and Hefty embark on a thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest to find a lost village before the evil wizard does, only to stumble upon the biggest secret in Smurf history. Check out the movie at your local cinema. 

 

2. Fantasy Fayre

This medieval inspired market has a number of fantasy themed stalls and various games for the whole family to enjoy, from Game of Kings (Viking Chess) to archery. Open from 10am till 5pm at The Moors Castle, Muldersdrift. Tickets are R25 online or R40 at the gate.

3. Huawei Joburg Day in the Park

The picnic style concert boasts a stellar line up of South African bands and performers, including Goldfish, Mafikizolo, Gangs of Ballet,  Freshlygound and Locnville. 

The venue is Emmarentia and the time is 9am till 6pm. Tickets are R350 from ticketpros.co.za. 

4. Little Maestros

Classical music is a brilliant developmental tool for children from birth to age 6, boosting brain development and concentration. With this concert series, aimed specifically at the younger listeners, Little Maestros offer a relaxed environment where little ears learn through Mozart Bach and well-known nursery rhymes.

This Saturday the theme is  “BRASS BONANZA”
