We’ve done a series of posts on these prenatal vitamins over the past few months, so I’ll just do a quick recap on what we’ve discussed.
Chela Preg is the only set of prenatal vitamins that are divided into three trimesters, giving you exactly what you need for each stage of pregnancy. The pills change as your baby’s needs change. I broke down the highlights of each trimester in this post.
For instance, in the first trimester you’ll find extra B6 to help with morning sickness and no Vitamin E which is best avoided during this time, although you’ll need it later on.
After that I did quite a bit of research and pulled out all my pregnancy books to figure out what exactly you need in your prenatal vitamins and how Chela Preg matches up to that. You’ll find all the figures and essential things you need here.
Of course the main thing you need is folic acid (in Chela Preg you’ll find it as Quatrefolic Acid, a natural 5-MTHF folate form of folic acid). But you’ll also need various vitamins and minerals which I list.
We then sourced four bloggers to be guinea pigs and test drive the product. They let us know how taking the vitamins had affected them.
Belinda obtained the thumbs up from her gynecologist about splitting the iron and calcium portions.
- cost effective
- feel good on the product
- no constipation or reflux
- better energy levels
- less “pregnancy brain”

Chela Preg packs are available at DisChem, Clicks and leading pharmacies. Their recommended sales price is R211,72 (for Trimester 1), R230,68 (for Trimester 2) and 251,22 (for Trimester 3).
All you have to do is leave a comment using the Rafflecopter mechanism telling us which trimester you will be in during the first week in December which is when the product will be delivered.. That way we can make sure you will receive the right ones. You’ll receive extra points for tweeting a message about the competition too.
